Mothers Fragrant Natural Incense is made with love and packed for peace.

Our incense is hand rolled in South India by women who are provided with good working conditions, above-average pay rates, and additional support such as a bicycle allowance. Beyond employment, Mothers also contributes to local communities and supports several charitable initiatives.

At the heart of Mothers Fragrances is a simple intention: to create chemical-free, organically made incense, crafted using traditional methods passed down through generations.

 

The result is a range of deeply fragrant incense sticks that burn for over an hour, offering a slow, steady presence rather than an overpowering scent.

Traditionally, incense was created to enhance mood, support mental wellbeing, and accompany meditation and spiritual practice. We honour this intention in every blend.

A Sattvic Approach to Business

Exotic Designers and Importers (EDI) is the Australian importer of Mothers Fragrances.

EDI began in the 1990s with a clear intention: to conduct business in a sattvic way — fair trading, sustainability, giving back, and operating with love and integrity rather than greed.

Through this journey, we learned deeply about Dharma, the idea of living and working in alignment with one’s true creative nature. When business is guided by dharma, meaningful creations, relationships, and positive impact naturally follow.

A Natural Synergy

It was through this shared philosophy that Mothers Fragrances and Exotic Designers & Importers connected, creating a natural and lasting synergy.

EDI became the sole exclusive agent and importer for Mothers Fragrances in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

Mothers’ openness to co-creation allowed for the development of new incense blends, refined packaging, and essential oil blends. Creating products in the right mood, with the right intention, has according to retailers and customers, resulted in what many describe as high-vibration products.

We feel deeply humbled by the continued support and positive feedback from both retailers and end consumers.

Giving Back

Giving back is an essential part of our ethos.

• 2% of profits are donated to support micro-loans for women in Asia and Africa
• From EDI profits, original founder Radha and his wife Marissa have planted over 20,000 trees locally

These actions are small steps, but meaningful ones, toward balance and responsibility.

A Family Business

Mothers Fragrance Incense is available through many good-hearted, family-run businesses, including health food stores, crystal shops, healing & yoga centres, and new age stores across Australia and New Zealand.

Today, Exotic Designers and Importers is run by Radha’s eldest son, Sam, and his family, continuing the values on which the business was founded.
